Finding the Buoyancy Beyond Borders August 15, 2011 No Comments
Nowhere on Earth does humanity present itself in such a dizzying, creative burst of cultures, religions, races and tongues. Every aspect of the India presents itself on a massive, exaggerated scale, worthy in comparison only to the superlative mountains that overshadow it. Perhaps the only thing more difficult than to be indifferent to India would be to describe or understand India completely.
India is everything human. It is all of our achievements and accomplishments, it is the past, it is the future. If it has been thought, experienced and imagined, it has all happened before in India and you can be sure it is happening right now. I wonder at times how this world might have been with out this happening part.
The real Initiative…
At the stroke of the midnight hour, while the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.” said the first prime minister of India.
Sixty four years later, the significance of that day has become clearer with every passing year with many countries around the world living with the changes that began on August 15, 1947.
It is the day that heralded the beginning of the end of centuries of colonial exploitation in Asia and Africa. After India and Pakistan, both Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) and Burma (now Myanmar) won their independence in 1948, followed by Indonesia in 1949 and Malaysia in 1957. In Africa, too, the “winds of change”, as mentioned by then British prime minister Harold Macmillan in 1960, had started blowing. Ghana became independent in 1957, Nigeria in 1960, Uganda in 1962, Kenya in 1963 and Tanganyika and Zanzibar (now Tanzania) in 1964, while South Africa had to wait till the nineties for the end of apartheid. Further a field, in the West Indies, Jamaica, and Tri
nidad & Tobago became independent in 1962.
Undeniably, it is the Indian independence movement that had inspired the people in all the other colonies to fight for and secure their freedom from their European colonialism.
Martin Luther King, however, adopted the Gandhian method to oppose racial fanatism in US. Inspired by Gandhi’s words – “through our paifanatismn we will make them see their injustice” – King launched his non-violent civil rights movement, saying that from his background “I gained my Christian ideals; from Gandhi I learned my operational technique.” India can be proud, therefore, that it acted as an agent of monumental historical change in the last century.
Lets pass on to the generations to come, the performing systems of development, preserve the value systems, equip them with better standards of health, education, living index and executive leadership towards a greater harmonic human race.

Moving from the ups and downs of the last year and recession-recovery sickness which are quiet over as the numbers are growing with hiring happening in a big way across Indian IT companies have scaled up the industry positively. This past experiences and companies should be embracing innovation offered across the sourcing models, pricing, resource search, process management and strategic investments.
THRESHOLD brings it to fore its valuable experiences to rollout a conceptual outsourcing model based on the Gandhian Principles called ‘Outsourcing 2.0’ version and its service offerings a reason to celebrate comfort with clients. The model isn’t completely new but is a original composition of existing LAPSES and GAPS in the present sourcing models across the industry. The objective of the model is to facilitate outsource partners, BPO firms and Client with comfort.
Traditionally the Outsourcing partner don’t have the comfort to speak out but is only expected to focus in achieving the results, the BPO’s aren’t allowed to engage in assessing the needs and visualizing the exact objective of the clients but are pressured to focus on prescribed directives based as of the deliverables and the client normally don’t find space to address the issues arise through the sourcing processes, functionaries and other impactful elements
Based on the Gandhian Principles we rolled out a niche and different model which allows the client and other partners in the issue to benefit in multiple ways. The empanelment sets a compelling advantages across the

As munnabhai says “There’s first time for everything” and my trip to Latin is of the sort.
MY business trip to Latin America, which is all set to be an exciting one for me beyond business reasons & personal purposes; it offers me a firsthand exposure to the business culture across the continent. The experience is expected to be special, as my preparation from learning Spanish to visa stamping was made fantastic by my team in all aspects.
Wish me good fortune & Times…
I was there, but NOT ALONE October 19, 2010 12 Comments
- When Barcelona striker David Villa sent a signed jersey and Real Madrid offered an invitation to a match it wasn’t for a football promoting and fans appealing program;
- When Billionaire Chile president Mr. Sebastian Pinera made statement and invited them to Presidential palace for a dinner, it wasn’t for political benefit;
- When Mr. Laurence Golborne, Chile mining minister was twitted across the globe over by an average of 15 k followers per week isn’t for him;
- When the firm Codelco, the world’s top copper producer and Schramm Inc, the global leader in supplier of hydraulic drilling equipments and California-based sunglasses firm Oakley participated it wasn’t for any organizational business purpose or any profit positioning instance;
- When around the world print, electronic and online media served with latest news and update for a period of 69 days wasn’t to sensationalize by reporting the incident;
- When Mining Union leaders and top relative domain companies offered more than 1000 job options with them isn’t for lucrative occasion;

YES, it was for the purpose of showcasing overwhelming humanious support extended towards the ordeal of 33 Chilean mineworkers, who were trapped 700 meters underground for 69 days at the San Jose gold and copper mine in the northern Atacama Desert region, due to the collapse of the shaft while working.
Honestly speaking, I was not curious about the issue for a couple weeks, but I picked the nerves of the real issue only when I understood the gravity of the circumstances that the mineworkers are trapped in. My excitement grew by each day with the increasing media coverage and hundreds of supporters across society, families and others thronging themselves to the location. The increasing numbers of camps put up by these groups praying and awaiting the survival of their family member; brother, father or son, it could be the most anxious moment of their lifetime.
Despite the root causes of the issue, I found the following experiences that awed me during these times;
- History has witnessed a rare demonstration, where fate was defeated with hands down show of technical expertise pooled by various ma-made resources.
- The event transpired a whole nation to live through the emotions and to make celebrations is beyond a natural effort and it was amazingly impressive. I am sure the sounds of cheers and glasses over drink kept the evil spirits at bay.
- The incident uncovered the greed of the mining companies and negligence by the governments are displayed across and the event had greater chances to kick off the reforms towards “the working conditions of mineworkers; in safety, shelter and pay “for the industry too.

Above all, beyond the survival, man displayed homogeneity in putting up collective effort; a feat very seldom in occurrence and I am happy for I lived in this times to witness, “the enigmatic moment of survival” that set to inspire many TV shows, movies, autobiographies in coming times.
It happened in India October 18, 2010 5 Comments
Foot-tapping, hand-clapping, jaw-dropping performances unveiled 19th CWG some 15 days ago, the caramel beginning continued with a bigger than life action games filled with some fists in the air, thumping legs on the floors, nail biting finishes with resonance of rejoice and echoes of euphoria all across the stadia with thousands of bright eyes looking around in search of their favorite color YELLOW.
Simply, The CWG, a kaleidoscope of energies, spirits, achievements, moments and memories, was panoramically watched by proud and ecstatic Indians, plus millions of television viewers across the Commonwealth nations and countries all over the globe. This event made us to rediscover ourselves in new ways…
How is it !!
The 2010 Commonwealth Games are the most expensive Commonwealth Games ever. A doubt was raised as to whether the Games would be held at all and now eye brows were raised as it all happened like a dream? Truly, this is a case study that can be presented in any B-school presenting Crisis Management at its best. Yes, the last-minute finishing work was avoidable, but people just see what all positives the Games have. All’s not bad and ugly. Simply, went on with action filled games with crowd flooded galleries looking out for their favorite color YELLOW.
Not only was it the first time that the Games were held here, the host nation surpassed all expectations to finish 2nd in the medals tally (highest ever position) and also got their highest medal count of 101 in total and 38 Gold medals.
Athletes from 71 countries contested for 826 medals in the true spirit of friendship. Several Commonwealth Games records were broken, including two world records.
India is largely a single-sport country, with cricket far outstripping all other sports in terms of the talent, sponsorships, spectator support, and media attention it receives. Building a sporting culture that looks beyond cricket is seen as an important task for a country which won its first ever individual Olympic gold medal only in 2008, despite having the world’s second-largest population. It will take years to tell whether this has actually taken place, but the high TV viewership of otherwise rarely-watched events is an encouraging sign. This was also evident in India winning its first ever medals in Gymnastics, and in the women’s 4×400m relay, where India won the gold medal to resounding cheers from a packed audience in Nehru Stadium. It was India’s first gold medal from a track racing event since Milkha Singh’s gold medal in the 440 yard (400 m) race at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games at Cardiff.
So What??
Commonwealth Games 2010 is expected to result in an overall economic impact of USD 4,940 million on India’s GDP during a period of four years ending 2012 and create an employment opportunity close to 24.7 lakh.
According to a Games Organizing Committee document, this figure is almost three times the economic impact the 2006 Melbourne Games had on Australian GDP.
It said the 2002 Manchester Games created an impact of nearly USD 3,400 million in Britain’s, while the Melbourne Games created an impact of USD 1,600 million on Australia’s GDP.
The social and environmental impact of the Games will be highly laudable as they are bound to encourage improved standards of education to children, boost sports activities, create a better quality of life and experience for citizens, increase international recognition and create environmental consciousness among the community,” it said.
The next few years will reveal which direction India is moving in. Those of us from India, as also its well-wishers, will hope that as it accelerates onto the turnpike of rapid economic growth, the nation also stays on the high road of inclusive development, democracy, and secularism.
7 Points-A-WAY: Understanding SaaS Vs ERP Vs Managed Hosting September 7, 2010 1 Comment
Since the choice to choose an ERP for any organization has grown in multiples, we service providing companies find most of our time being consumed in making clients understand the whole set of choices available but driving the sales decision. In a recent Tech forum discussion, I was told that it
will around next 3 years for SaaS to be completely fit and viable to serve immediate ERP needs of large organizations across functions, a realistic approach to take than bigger promises, far from reality. But, it’s for sure SaaS is future ERP for organization needs of all sizes.
- Impressive Vs Implementable is the key challenge to the Customers and vendors. The difficult task is to bring down the CTO’s attachment to impressive smart details of SaaS and its successful deployment rate and growth made by competitors against the regular ERP.
- Doing things with SaaS aren’t as flexible as with ERP, especially with customizing and integrating with other software.
- Despite such instances, the customers with SaaS are expecting and are able to see a saving of about 50% of the Total Costs of the ownership against the regular ERP’s.
- The overall higher costs of ‘Licenses’ and ‘Pay Per Use’ are a matter of concern, but the heat isn’t much to talk on this by the customers.
- Be aware of the track record of various Modules and functionalities that aren’t successful with various customer business needs.
- If stuck in cost comparisons, do consider the ERP Hosting as service if not assured of SaaS, where the offered services come with flexibility, security and convenient too.
- Existing competition in the Managed ERP hosting services, have a huge set of vendors and service providers to present with most affordable packages.
